VIRAL® FAQs How often can I use viral® colorwash®? Start using viral® colorwash® right after your fresh color service. Continuous use adds and replenishes color, preventing color from looking washed out and faded. Alternate with viral® moisturewash,™ no color shampoo, to manage vibrancy of haircolor tones. How long does the color last? viral® colorwash® lightens and fades from the hair when subsequent shampooings are with a clear, no color shampoo. The durability of the product on the hair is dependent on the condition and porosity of the hair. Will it cover grey hair? viral® colorwash® will not cover grey hair. Will it lighten dark hair? viral® colorwash® will not lighten dark hair. It will add extreme bold tones to pre-lightened hair, and jewel-tones on darker color hair, based on selection of color. If I have dark brown hair and I take for example the viral® extreme teal shampoo and use it on my hair will it turn my hair that color or a shade of that color? The viral® extreme teal will show on dark brown hair only in the areas where it has been either highlighted or color treated and based on the porosity of the hair. It will look more jewel-like in tone on the darker hair. On hair that has not been color-treated, the extreme teal will not hold to the newer hair at the crown of the head because the follicles are more compact there. It may add some jewel-tone color to the ends that are older and have faded and are more porous. What do you do if you have 2 different highlights or fashion colors in your hair? Which color do you choose? Choose the color that best matches the lightest color highlight in the hair. If a viral® tone is desired you can do the same. If you have bold pieces in the hair you can apply a tone to each piece separately then rinse down with good water pressure. Can these be used with a keratin treatment? All of our products are suitable for hair that has a keratin treatment. Can it be used on eyebrows? viral® colorwash® carry customary warnings to not be used around the eyes. Does viral® colorwash® contain any harsh chemicals? All viral® products are free of sulfates, parabens, ammonia, peroxide, PPD and gluten Are viral® products gentle on my hair? Can you just use the viral® clear moisturewash™ and clear blonditioner™ on hair that is not colored but very damaged? Yes. These products work exceptionally well on dry, damaged, virgin hair. What does the product smell like and are all of them the same fragrance? The products have top notes of citrus bloom, mint, mid notes of herbs, florals and bottom notes of sweet musk. Does viral® colorwash® stain the skin? viral® colorwash® formulas were carefully formulated to maximize color deposition on the hair and minimize staining on the hands and scalp. As the hair is shampooed, the lather will become noticeably lighter/whiter. This indicates the color is being absorbed into the hair fibers. However, hand and scalp skin can stain slightly, especially if dry. If you do experience staining, simply wash area with a shampoo or soap without color. Does viral® colorwash® stain fabric? After the hair is washed and dried, color does not fade from the hair to stain clothing or bedding. If not completely rinsed from the hair, color may migrate from wet hair and skin to towels, clothing and bedding, but can be easily washed to remove. However, if colorwash® comes directly in contact with fabrics, including towels and clothing, it can stain. So pigmented!!
These shampoos work so well. I had colored my hair purple with manic panic but it had faded out a lot, i purchased the purple viral color wash and it completely recolored my hair with one wash! so worth the money if you color your hair often or if it fades quickly

Looks like i just got my hair colored!
I’m in love with the hot pink colorwash! My friends think I just got a fresh color done at a salon when I haven’t had my hair done in months! I don’t use this every time I shower- just every other month. It is messy tho - you need to wear latex gloves to keep your hands from getting stained, but it’s worth the trouble.

Lifesaver for bright hair colors
I've had blue dyed hair for about two years, and used the extreme blue colorwash for about a year. I am amazed at how much of a difference it makes in the staying power of my color. This is a must-have for anyone looking to make demi-permanent brights last a long time.

My hair color stayed brighter longer
After two weeks of getting my hair dyed aqua, I noticed that my hair was fading quite rapidly (fully noted I do wash often). Even though I used a color safe shampoo, it didn't seem to help. I went to Westside Beauty in Capitola and one of the girls suggested I try the Viral color shampoo. It works very well, but to allow color to deposit, it can be a little drying. Thankfully that is nothing my deep conditioner couldn't fix. :)
